Meet Sienna

Sienna Christina Dixon-Newman was a bright, vibrant, bubbly, always on the move, 7 year old with big dreams. She participated and excelled in Girl Scouts, karate, Tae Kwon Do, dance, cheerleading, and gymnastics. She loved school, swimming, and music.

Sienna was always willing to help others no matter where she went. One of her many nicknames was “Mother Hen” because you could always find her helping younger children.

I wanna be a donor too because i wanna be able to help people. I won’t need any of that stuff when I’m gone.

On a spring day in 2014, she asked her mother what the “heart” on her license meant. Her mother explained that she was an organ donor. How do you explain what an organ donor is to a 6 year old? After, Sienna looked at her mother and said, “I wanna be an organ donor too, because I want to be able to help people. I won’t need any of that stuff when I’m gone.”

On September 18, 2015, Sienna suddenly passed away from an asthma attack. Upon her passing her skin, tissue, corneas, and heart valves were donated to give a new life to others.

It is our hope that in Sienna’s selfless act at such a young age, others will be inspired to do the same.
