What makes a hero?
Everyone has the power to be a hero. True heroism comes from putting the needs of others above yourself. This is the driving force behind the Sienna 7 Foundation. The selfless act by a young girl, Sienna Christina Dixon-Newman, is the inspiration behind everything we do. Sienna passed suddenly at the age of 7, but she selflessly gave life to others by being an organ donor. During this time, her mother found emotional support through donor recipients and donor families. The Sienna 7 Foundation was born out of the love and support she received. Knowing that others could benefit from this community, the seeds of the foundation were planted – with the mission to provide support to organ, skin, and tissue donor families.
My donor gave me hope and extended my life 29 plus years to spend time with my family and friends!
Why the 7?
Throughout history, the number 7 has played a significant role in society, culture, and religion. It has been significant since ancient times. Almost every religion gives the number significance. The seven wonders of the world have long provided a bucket list of places for travelers. It is associated with luck and magic. I is the basis for myths and folklore. Andthroughout Sienna’s short life she was constantly surrounded by sevens.

7 was her Girl Scout line number which is chosen at random
Her grandmother called her “7” because she couldn’t remember her name
7 is her mother’s favorite number
She participated in 7 different extra-curricular activities
She was 7 when she passed away
7 is the number of completion – it is believed that this amazing child did everything she was supposed to do here on Earth
My daughter extended my warranty in this life so that I may continue to fulfill the journey that God has placed before me!
What do we do?
The Sienna 7 Foundation provides emotional support for donor families and raises awareness of the impact that organ donors have on people’s lives. Through group meetings and personal contact, we assist in building a community. One of the biggest events we attend is the Donate Life Transplant Games. This annual event celebrates organ donors and donor recipients. Our goal is to provide assistance to families so they can experience the love and community this event provides. Donations to the foundation are used to provide scholarships to these families.
I have lived 35 years with my donor’s kidney only 19 years with my own. #donatelife
